Peder Jungck is the Senior VP and Chief Technology Officer with CloudShield Technologies - an SAIC Company. He is coming to MHCC to speak with us about the state of Cyber Security in the US today and discuss trends, careers, and opportunities. White House Servers Hacked

October 2, 2012. The Washington Free Beacon reports that hackers linked to the Chineese government have infiltrated the White House network using a "spear phishing" attack. Reporter Bill Gertz writes "broke into one of the U.S. government’s most sensitive computer networks, breaching a system used by the White House Military Office for nuclear commands" while the Huffington Post reports the hackers only gained access to an "unclassified network". Hmm...

Fall ISTM classes at capacity

CyberSecurity classes under the ISTM banner opened to capacity classes with all sessions having wait-lists. MHCC Dean Rodney Barker has directed the ISTM183A class to be run again in the Winter 2013 term, and ISTM183B to be run again in the Spring 2013 term. Want to know more? [link]
